Boundary Line Maintenance

Properly establishing and maintaining your boundary lines is important. It is the single best action you can take to prevent timber theft and trespass. Properly marking your boundaries also aids in timber management activities, reduces liability, and may save the landowner thousands of dollars for a survey in the future. Unfortunately, properly marking boundary lines is where most landowners fall behind. We recommend that timberland owners mark their boundary lines with specially designed boundary line paint every 7 years. We use high-quality Nelson® Boundary Mark paint which produces bright, long-lasting marks on boundaries. Colors available are: white, purple, blue, red, yellow, and orange.

In addition to painting your boundary lines, we recommend landowners have place “Posted” signs on the boundaries of their property. For larger landowners, unique individualized signs can be ordered to easily identify your property to others and add a level of professionalism to your property.
